My computer is being used as a tool here lately, so I'm still struggling to get on early.
I did good on my food yesterday. Breakfast, oatmeal with craisins, Lunch, mashed potatoes plain, cottage cheese, steamed broccoli, green peas, yeast roll, Dinner, black bean chili, no meat, added brown rice, Snack, warm peaches with light whipping cream.
Exercise was good too. I got in an 11 minute run on the WII, hula hooped for 5 minutes, did some kind of step up routine, about 3 minutes, 5 minutes of boxing, and about 10 minutes of squats and weight lifting. Nothing big, but I was at least moving yesterday. I want to go for a run today, but it depends on the rain.So far oatmeal for breakfast, and planning a healthy choice steamer meal, if I don't change my mind.
I don't have a lot of time to post these days, but I'm going to give it my best shot to at least drop by with some kind of progress. Have a good one.
I have totally gone off the deep end. No exercise, nor have I watched anything going in my mouth. I have got to get control of this before I lose all my hard work, or maybe I should have said gain.
So far today is oatmeal with craisins and two rice cakes. I have a major appetite going on. I also have a workout planned for this afternoon. Now to just do it. I have no discipline. Whine, whine, whine. That seems to be the only thing I do these days, and I'm the only one to blames. Well, I'm off to see if I can stay on track today. Have a great one.
I am so behind on my blog. I have done so so on my food, although, I'm down 3 more so I'm fine with that considering I could have so easily gained. With deer season in full swing, I don't have much time on the computer, and when I do, I'm catching up with family, so sorry it's been a while. I didn't meet my goal for Thanksgiving either, but I'm still headed in the right direction. Hopefully I don't lose all control at Thanksgiving dinner, my favorite Holiday.
Exercise is almost non existent again. I'll have to get back in gear on that. I just haven't been feeling quite myself lately. It's probably the reason.
Well, I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving, and don't forget to give thanks.
I'm averaging 1700 calories a day. At that range I will maintain forever unless I kick it up a notch. I have been hungry lately, and am not sure what's triggering it. I stopped the splenda for about a week and it didn't help. Process of elimination I guess. I have also been a slug, just no energy to really get into my exercise. I've been doing some, but not enough, nor have I pushed myself. My motivation is a bit slow lately. I have so much to do this time of year, with work, family events, deer season, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, I don't know if I'm coming or going. Still no excuse, but I'm so tired when I get home. You can forget this old broad getting up early, that's my best sleeping time. I'm awake off and on until about 4 A.M. then I'm like a rock till 6:30.
We have our Christmas light display opened for our city last night. It is located on the side of our lake, so we can go view it from our boat. I really look forward to that.
Well, off to see what I still haven't done. Have a great day. OH, I'm down 1 lb, how I'm not sure.
Well, several deer were taken the first weekend of modern gun, but none by me and my grandson. He had a six point come out on Saturday afternoon, but he was shaking so bad, he couldn't shoot. It was a Priceless moment that I wouldn't trade for the world. Saw a couple bobcats and a coyote. We really need to take care of them, before they run off all the deer.
I used my weights this weekend, but that's the only exercise I got. Food was descent, but I need to plan better. We had cabbage, pinto beans with turkey smoked sausage. I should have had some kind of grain, but I didn't plan well enough to do that. I'm going to have to make a weekend meal plan. I don't have near as much trouble at home as at camp. Mainly because we all cook something different and put it all together at meal times. I really need to find out what everyone else is cooking and work my own meal around it. I'll figure something out.
Food yesterday was great, sorry I haven't posted it lately, just barely getting here to post. My scale did show a .5 lb loss this morning, but since my official weigh day is Wednesday, I can't count it. That's ok, my measurements are showing my progress. I actually packed my hand weights to take to camp. If nothing else, I can do them in the evening, before we head to the fire. I have to do something this weekend, I had a homeowners meeting last night that I forgot about, so it messed up my workout.
Well, I'm heading to camp early to get ready. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
I promise, I'm not trying to avoid my blog. Although you would think so, since I can't seem to drop anymore weight. But no, just been busy with deer season now in full swing, guys taking vacation, and me trying to change our invoicing. Talk about a job. First I have to learn it, then start using it, while teaching the guys how it works. That is like teaching a cow to fetch, if you what I mean. I have done good with my food this week, just still fighting my portions. I take days where I could eat a horse, and for the life of me I can't figure out what is triggering it. I'm about to think that it is artificial sweetner. I tried just using light whipping cream in my coffe and no sweetner, except for what's in the whipping cream. It will definately take some getting used to.
Although I haven't lost any weight, my waste is still shrinking. Not as fast as I would like, but getting smaller. My arms are giving me fits. They refuse to let go of the batwings. I lift weights, prolly not enough, or hard enough, but I lift. I can see some muscles starting to show in my biceps, but my triceps are whistling in the wind. And back fat, where the heck does it come from, do we just run out of room in the front or what. I'm really just trying to be funny, it's much better then getting frustrated and discouraged.
I had a long night lastnight. The hubby went to pick up some things in Illinois and I didn't sleep well. I did great till about 2 A.M., then my little, big dog, she thinks she's big, decided that the deer were not going to be allowed in the yard lastnight. She barked all night long. When I got up at 5:30, she was sleeping like a baby. I just wanted to go over and scare the crap out of her.
I have lots of reading today, and think I'll fix a cup of hot tea, without sweetner, yuck. Have a great Thursday.
I have been trying to get over here for a post, but I have been so busy the last few days. I spent Friday hunting, which was my Birthday. I bagged a deer with my bow. Finally. I've been hunting with a bow for several years now and this is the first deer I've gotten with it. Saturday and Sunday was spent building a floor in our pavilion at deer camp. It was all damp and rocky, now it is a plywood floor, that looks and feels so much nicer. I'm kinda proud of it to be quite honest. Especially since I'm the only female to help build it. Guess you have figured by now that I'm a huge tomboy. My hubby doesn't mind though, he says at least he knows he has help no matter what he's trying to do.
Food was off, totally. My daughter in law baked me a cake for my Birthday, and I couldn't hurt her feelings. No, but really, I had planned on just enjoying my weekend anyways. If I can keep my celebrations down to a minimum, then every now and then is fine. I don't feel bad about it. I doubt I did much damage.
Exercise, was all weekend running a nail gun and plenty of squats measuring and placing boards. I felt it for two days, so I'd say I got a pretty good workout. Now I'm back to reality and on program. I'm doing week 2 day 1 today. I'll let you know how it goes.
I went over my calories yesterday, but was still below what it should take for me to maintain. Don't ask what happened, because I really don't have a clue. I wanted it and ate it, plain and simple. It's counted and not too bad, shouldn't cause a gain, so I'm all good.
I did some HIIT on the treadmill, some step ups, and some yoga. Who ever says yoga is easy, should come watch me a minute. I have NO BALANCE. If you take one of my feet out from under me, it is a wobbly situation.
I had a bit of hip trouble last night, after the HIIT. I wish I knew what was up with that. I took two Aleve and put an ice pack on it for a while. No pain today. I'm about to think I have arthritis in my hip. As far as I know I have never injured it. Now everything else in my body has been injured, but not the hip. Go figure. Anyways, it doesn't hurt today, and doesn't seem to hurt if I take Aleve a couple hours before a workout. Guess I'll just have to do that until my next doctors appointment, and I'll mention it to him.
Today is lower body ST. I have my plan and honestly am not looking forward to it. I never liked all the squats, but it's part of it and I'll suck it up and do it anyways.
I'm off and running, have a wonderful Wednesday.
I sure made up for some lost sleep last night. Sunday night I only got an hour or two of sleep. Couldn't sleep and then when I did it was all kinds of weird dreams. Last night, I got home did my upper body workout, forgot I started my last 4 weeks on my last challenge, and drank a cup of coffee. I was cold, tired, had a headache, that became severe and made me a bit sick at my stomach. I'm thinking from lack of sleep. So I ate a salad, and climbed myself right up into my bed and crashed. I don't think I even turned over all night. I woke up at 5:30 when the alarm went off. I normally wake up about 15 minutes early. I must have really been tired. My headache is gone, I feel refreshed and ready to start this Beautiful Tuesday. It is that time of year that my allergies go totally haywire, Fall and Spring, but I have started my daily allergy meds, hoping to conquer that before it ever gets started good.
Yesterday was good for the food, as for calories, but I needed to get my lunch and dinner tweaked a bit. Guess with a headache the last thing on my mind was food. Actually I was lucky I eve ate anything at dinner.
Today is a cardio day. I'm not sure whether or not I want to take a run or do some HIIT on the treadmill. I do know I'll do about twenty minutes on the WII, just for fun.

Well I'm off to get some work done. I am off Friday for my Birthday and want to leave with a clean office. Have a great Tuesday.
Hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend. Mine was a bit busy, but that means I burned more calories, so I won't complain. I posted on Saturday, so I'll just go straight into my Sunday. Up with the chickens, my body doesn't except daylight savings time. Vacuumed my whole house, cooked some homemade deer vegetable soup, picked up a ton of pecans that fell from the storm the other night. I'm not sure how our crop will be this year with all the rain and some falling early. We'll have to wait and see. Danced around me house for what seemed like forever with the curtains open and letting all that beautiful sun shine in.
Food was good yesterday, except for the peach cobbler, (made with Splenda) that I devoured. I was still within my calories, but I should have picked a better snack.
Today, I plan on doing some ST and Wii fit.
Have to make this short, my job requires that I work. Go Figure. :)
I had a really good run this morning. I mapped my run on sparkpeople, but it isn't accurate on the miles, but that's alright, I just burned more calories than I have listed. Better to show less burned then more. It was 61 degrees, and a slight breeze, with a big orange ball in the sky following me everywhere. Not sure what that was, been a while. I also saw a doe with two little ones. They were so close I could have tossed a rock and hit them. They just froze, guess they thought I couldn't see them if they didn't move. Silly deer.
My food was great again yesterday, still had 200 calories I could have used. I shoot for 1200 to 1550. This morning, as I laid in bed, enjoying the fact that I didn't have to get up unless I wanted to, and thought about how to get protein in my oatmeal without eating fat. I decided to try whey protein powder, vanilla flavored. I mixed in one scoop with cinnamon, and craisins. I'll have to say it was mighty tasty.
I have to get in some ST sometime today. Some side squats, hoping to build a bit of muscle on my hips. Some core exercises with the balance ball, and a few upper body. I know I'll always be broad shouldered, but if I can slim down my arms, it will look normal.
Well, I'm off to clean my filthy house. It has been neglected lately. Have a great day, and watch out for all the little goblins.
Everything is going smooth for the moment. Rain is supposed to end for about a week this evening. We received over 5 inches last night. Our pecan orchard looks like a lake, which thankgoodness it has a creek that runs straight into the river. That is if the river doesn't come up anymore. I have a feeling our pecan crop this year is a bust. Hopefully we can salvage some of it.
I got in some upper body ST yesterday. I don't spend as much time on the lower since my cardio consists of running or biking most of the time. Not to mention, my arms and stomach are my problems. I have very little fat at all on my legs and hips. Some woman would kill to have little hips, but I would love to just have some hips. I look out of perportion because I'm very broad shouldered, but no hips. Now I got plenty of backside, just not enogh on the sides. I guess we all have different pet peeves. I should notice more of my ups, then my downs. One up is I can run a 5K, that two years ago I thought was crazy to even try. I quit smoking 5 years ago on the 15th of November, big milestone for me. I've started somewhat training for a 10K. The weather has slowed that process, but I'll get there. I have stayed within my calories for this whole week. I've exercised 3 days this week. So I guess I'm doing well.

I think I did pretty good. If anyone has any suggestions on how to tweak my meals or change to better work for me, I would gladly like to here your opinions.
I have a new gadget that I've been playing with the last few days. Sparkspeople. I've heard several talk about it, and I confess, I even played around with it a time or two, but never really got serious about keeping track. I finally got serious on Monday, and I really like it. It has so much more listed on restaurant food then I had thought. So far I've only entered a couple of items that were not listed. I also have kept up with my fitness, and it is neat to look back at calories burned, just used in general, and how many were taken in. It is so much more informative than just journaling my food. I wonder if they have a program like this that can be downloaded to your computer, then periodically updated for new information. The reason I say this, is because not always do I have an Internet connection. I'll have to study that.
Yesterday I did no exercise. I was worn out after a two hour Walmart trip. I never went on Tuesday, it was raining, so I waited till yesterday. I got home to unload the groceries, clean my kitchen from breakfast, and then the company came. An every Wednesday night thing. Play music, or just relax and talk, kind of a we made it half way through the week, now let's unwind kind of thing. I unwound for sure, I fell asleep in my recliner at 8, while our company was still there. OOPS!! That's ok, they are like family, they'll forgive me. But non the less, I needed a rest, and feel better today. Since I was sick last week, I don't want to over do it and relapse, so all's good.
I had another awesome food day, I even managed to stay in my boundaries for fat, carbs, and proteins. That's how it is broken down. My calorie count is from 1200 to 1550 for a day, which on most days is easy, but it can be tough if I don't plan.
food yesterday,
Breakfast- 1 egg, 1/2 cup egg subst, onion, mushroom, mozz, and spinach omelett, 1 slice multi grain toast
Lunch-buffalo chicken sub on wheat from subway, dannon light and fit strawberry yogurt, 20 oz of unsweet tea
Dinner-pork chop grilled, 1/2 a small sweet potato, 1 serv of cauliflower
Snacks-apple, light string cheese, oikos Greek yogurt, hot herbal tea, tangerine, 15 almonds
I tried the Oikos Greek yogurt, blueberry. OMG!!!! It is so good, but nothing like traditional yogurt, it's more like a custard, and not near as sweet, more bitter. Almost like sour cream but really thick with a bit of sweetness. I have been looking for it forever, and finally found some at Walmart. We only have one health food store around here, and it's not a great one.
Well, I'm off to make this dreary, rainy, sticky day a really good one. So lets drink our water, track our food, move our backsides, and boost our spirits. Sounds like a plan to me.
Thought I'd share the view I have on my runs. I ran two miles yesterday afternoon, when it finally quit raining for a minute. It felt really good, and the temperature was perfect.
This is on my first mile, about 1/2 mile or so. The pavement was still wet.
And finally, I'm standing at my back porch, watching these little creatures play and eat, not more than 100 yards from where I'm standing. There are actually three, one little one is hiding behind mom.
As you can see, I got in my run, which I'm so glad I did. It was so pretty out. Food was on target, although I started keeping track on Sparkspeople and it told me I ate too much fat and not enough carbs. I'll have to watch that I guess. I really like the site, but, I have one pet peeve, which I'll probably figure out as I learn it more. It does count my strength trainings in my report. It showed my calories burned on the Wii, but nothing for the ST. I told my daughter that was just wrong. I'm sore and I want it to count. I'll figure it out.
Food Yesterday,
Breakfast- oatmeal with blueberries, 2 slices of bacon
Lunch- grilled chicken salad with mayo and craisins, ice berg lettuce, raspberry vinaigrette
Dinner- 5 oz fillet Mignon with A1, green beans, brown rice one serving each
Snack- 1 banana, 1 vanilla wafer
Well, I'm off to concour another day.
It's wet again. We still have more coming. I'm so glad I have exercises I can do inside.
I worked out on my Wii yesterday. It says I have great balance and posture. I think it can't see me, so how does it know. LOL I got in 30 minutes on it, which in all honesty is about an hour to complete. I'm still learning it, so I have to watch the demos first. I also got in some upper body ST and some side and regular planks. I use my balance ball for those.
I have to hit our Walmart Superstore this afternoon to get some things I'm out of. It's so different from how I used to shop. I used to buy lots of packaged foods, because after work I was worn out and didn't feel like cooking. Nothings really changed about the not cooking so much, but I've found a better and healthier way of doing it, thanks to frozen steam veggies, steam bags, and my rocket grill. In less than 30 minutes, we can eat a healthy, satisfying meal, without spending alot of money or time. That just makes me happy. It takes a few more minutes to prepare it, but basically it cooks itself. I'm all about short cuts. But then I'm not one of those that loves to cook. I would rather be outside working in the yard, on the boat, hunting, fishing, anything along those lines. Cleaning house, watching tv, and cooking, are all at the bottom of my list. I'm just a plain old country girl, that loves her outdoors.
Back to the important stuff, food. I had a really good day yesterday, but looking back this morning I didn't get in the protein for breakfast, so today I snuck some in.
Food Yesterday,
Breakfast- oatmeal with apple, blueberry, cinnamon, splenda, and spray ICBIB
Snack- apple
Lunch- spinach, tuna salad (tuna, apple, pickle, flax, miracle whip light)
Snack- banana, 1/2 monster protein smoothie, yogurt
Dinner- baked Mahi Mahi with 1 tbs butter, lemon pepper seasoning, green beans, 1/2 cup shrimp gumbo
I'm off to make this wet dreary day a good one. Hope you all do the same.
I have had one roller coaster week. Was in close contact with a camp member who tested positive for H1N1 last Tuesday. Wednesday evening I started vomiting, fever, and diarria, along with a headache. I thought I had gotten it from him, but it turns out it was just a stomach virus. The good Lord knows I don't want the swine flu if a stomach virus was so awful. I'm back at work this morning to a pile on my desk, and have really no energy to tackle it, but I must.
I lost 2 pounds last week, well as of this morning, but I doubt it's from working the plan, since most everything I ate or drank didn't stay there. I was dehydrated by Friday, and worked hard to rehydrate myself after most the sickness was over.
Food yesterday,
Breakfast- fried egg in Pam, sandwich on whole grain bread with light miracle whip
Lunch- tuna salad sandwich on whole grain, tuna, apple, blueberries, flax seed, pickle, miracle whip light
Snack-6 pecan halves
Dinner- spinach salad, spinach, mozzarella, tomato, Free Italian, 1 cup pasta with deer marinara
Snack- yogurt w/flax, banana
I have my food packed for the day, so it should be easier. I'm set up for a date with my Wii this afternoon during the news. It's so depressing, so I decided it is the perfect time to exercise. It makes me feel better without all the downers from the news.
OH, I almost forgot. Yesterday, while I was having a few good minutes, I cleaned out all my fat clothes. I officially have no more size 12's. I'm in a 10 and by dropping them off at our local salvation army, I have no excuse to gain it back, nor can I use them as a crutch anymore. So I was proud for doing that. Funny how my 10's are a bit loose, but I still weigh within 5 pounds of my 12's. Just goes to show you that it's not always about the number on the scale. I need to get busy and finish the last challenge I started. I'll sit down this week, and get me a plan on what cardio I'll do, and then next Monday I'll start my 2nd 4 weeks of the challenge. I've always heard it's better late then never.
Hope everyone has a great Monday, and stays away from any illnesses.
Stopping in to say I'm still here. I've had the flu for the last several days. I still feel crappie, but better today than in the last few days.
Food has been less then I need, seems I couldn't keep much down, but still trying to make sensible choices. No exercise, except for my abs. They are really sore right now. Still achey, and a slight fever, but better then 104 fever with chills and extreme body aches. I think the worst is over.
I haven't weighed, so who knows.
Crazy weekend. I'll make a brief recap. Friday evening my Wii came in early. It wasn't supposed to be here until today. I made baked beans for the Shrimp boil on Saturday night and set up my Wii. The hubby played a balance game while I cooked. I almost wet myself I was laughing so hard. After I finished the cooking, I ran and did some exercises on the Wii. I got in 45 minutes of different activities on the sports and fitness cd's.
Saturday morning, up before the chickens, I could have taken out a rooster at that hour. 4:30 A.M. I'm in the shower. By 6 we are out the door and prepared for the race for the cure. By 7 we are there and forcing our way through 43,000 people. The walk started at 8 and we finished by 9. It was amazing and emotional. How that many people can all come together for a cause is just awesome. And that was just the participants. We were elbow to elbow almost the whole way.
Saturday afternoon and evening. Went home, got the beans and stuff for camp, went to camp, got all the food prepped. Went back home, (forgot my ammo) I guess I was going to clean my deer to death, all I had was my gun and cleaning kit. DUH! Went back to camp. Good thing camp is only 14 miles from home. Helped get the tables set up and socialized a bit. Ate 3 shrimp, 1/2 a potato, 1 mushroom, and 1 beer. I was up half the night with indigestion.
Then got up at 5 to go hunting on Sunday morning. I saw a coyote, no deer. But then again, I fell asleep in the stand, so anything could have walked by. I was exhausted, and hungry, but still had a tummy ache. Went back to camp around 10, took a nap, ate a BQ pork sandwich, went back to the stand, saw three deer, and 7 rabbit, but the didn't hang around long. Left the woods at dark, loaded my truck, drove home, took more alka seltzer, played under cover monster with my dog, and went to bed. For some, it was probably a boring weekend, but it is how I spend most of mine.
I've run out of time today. Hope everyone has a great evening.
I woke up at 3:30 this morning. No reason, just woke up. I hate when that happens. Finally at 5, I just got up. Ok, your thinking perfect opportunity to get in some exercise. Ha, you were wrong. Instead I made a strong pot of coffee and sat in my recliner, with my wiener dog, and read. Why, because I wanted to. I feel like, if you don't stop and do something you enjoy, you will get lost in what this is all about, me. I am planning a run this evening, after the rain quits. It was raining this morning, and I really did not want to ride the bike today. Besides, my backside is sore from that darn seat. I put a towel on it, but it wasn't thick enough for my tushy.
My food was alright yesterday, needed more veggies. I need to carry some steam bags with me. Raw vegetables seem to make my stomach hurt, and gives me terrible gas. I know, to much info. but it does. Steamed is not as harsh for some reason.
Food Yesterday,
Breakfast- banana, oatmeal
Lunch- grilled chicken sandwich
Dinner- 3 fried eggs in Pam olive oil spray, 2 slices of wheat toast, 1/2 a sliced tomato
snack- banana, bowl of cereal with skim milk
I really should have eaten better, but sometimes it's difficult when you don't plan. DUH!!! Like I don't know that by now. Anyways, I'm being honest, and that's what counts.
I'm off to tackle this dreary, wet day, and hope this afternoon is much sunnier. Have a great one.
