My birthday weekend

on Tuesday, November 10, 2009

I have been trying to get over here for a post, but I have been so busy the last few days. I spent Friday hunting, which was my Birthday. I bagged a deer with my bow. Finally. I've been hunting with a bow for several years now and this is the first deer I've gotten with it. Saturday and Sunday was spent building a floor in our pavilion at deer camp. It was all damp and rocky, now it is a plywood floor, that looks and feels so much nicer. I'm kinda proud of it to be quite honest. Especially since I'm the only female to help build it. Guess you have figured by now that I'm a huge tomboy. My hubby doesn't mind though, he says at least he knows he has help no matter what he's trying to do.

Food was off, totally. My daughter in law baked me a cake for my Birthday, and I couldn't hurt her feelings. No, but really, I had planned on just enjoying my weekend anyways. If I can keep my celebrations down to a minimum, then every now and then is fine. I don't feel bad about it. I doubt I did much damage.

Exercise, was all weekend running a nail gun and plenty of squats measuring and placing boards. I felt it for two days, so I'd say I got a pretty good workout. Now I'm back to reality and on program. I'm doing week 2 day 1 today. I'll let you know how it goes.

Day Two down, 3 weeks and 3 days to Go

on Wednesday, November 4, 2009

I went over my calories yesterday, but was still below what it should take for me to maintain. Don't ask what happened, because I really don't have a clue. I wanted it and ate it, plain and simple. It's counted and not too bad, shouldn't cause a gain, so I'm all good.

I did some HIIT on the treadmill, some step ups, and some yoga. Who ever says yoga is easy, should come watch me a minute. I have NO BALANCE. If you take one of my feet out from under me, it is a wobbly situation.

I had a bit of hip trouble last night, after the HIIT. I wish I knew what was up with that. I took two Aleve and put an ice pack on it for a while. No pain today. I'm about to think I have arthritis in my hip. As far as I know I have never injured it. Now everything else in my body has been injured, but not the hip. Go figure. Anyways, it doesn't hurt today, and doesn't seem to hurt if I take Aleve a couple hours before a workout. Guess I'll just have to do that until my next doctors appointment, and I'll mention it to him.

Today is lower body ST. I have my plan and honestly am not looking forward to it. I never liked all the squats, but it's part of it and I'll suck it up and do it anyways.

I'm off and running, have a wonderful Wednesday.

Resuming my Last 4 Weeks of a Challenge

on Tuesday, November 3, 2009

I sure made up for some lost sleep last night. Sunday night I only got an hour or two of sleep. Couldn't sleep and then when I did it was all kinds of weird dreams. Last night, I got home did my upper body workout, forgot I started my last 4 weeks on my last challenge, and drank a cup of coffee. I was cold, tired, had a headache, that became severe and made me a bit sick at my stomach. I'm thinking from lack of sleep. So I ate a salad, and climbed myself right up into my bed and crashed. I don't think I even turned over all night. I woke up at 5:30 when the alarm went off. I normally wake up about 15 minutes early. I must have really been tired. My headache is gone, I feel refreshed and ready to start this Beautiful Tuesday. It is that time of year that my allergies go totally haywire, Fall and Spring, but I have started my daily allergy meds, hoping to conquer that before it ever gets started good.

Yesterday was good for the food, as for calories, but I needed to get my lunch and dinner tweaked a bit. Guess with a headache the last thing on my mind was food. Actually I was lucky I eve ate anything at dinner.

Today is a cardio day. I'm not sure whether or not I want to take a run or do some HIIT on the treadmill. I do know I'll do about twenty minutes on the WII, just for fun.

Sunny Sundays

on Monday, November 2, 2009

Hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend. Mine was a bit busy, but that means I burned more calories, so I won't complain. I posted on Saturday, so I'll just go straight into my Sunday. Up with the chickens, my body doesn't except daylight savings time. Vacuumed my whole house, cooked some homemade deer vegetable soup, picked up a ton of pecans that fell from the storm the other night. I'm not sure how our crop will be this year with all the rain and some falling early. We'll have to wait and see. Danced around me house for what seemed like forever with the curtains open and letting all that beautiful sun shine in.

Food was good yesterday, except for the peach cobbler, (made with Splenda) that I devoured. I was still within my calories, but I should have picked a better snack.

Today, I plan on doing some ST and Wii fit.

Have to make this short, my job requires that I work. Go Figure. :)

My Saturday Plan

on Saturday, October 31, 2009

I had a really good run this morning. I mapped my run on sparkpeople, but it isn't accurate on the miles, but that's alright, I just burned more calories than I have listed. Better to show less burned then more. It was 61 degrees, and a slight breeze, with a big orange ball in the sky following me everywhere. Not sure what that was, been a while. I also saw a doe with two little ones. They were so close I could have tossed a rock and hit them. They just froze, guess they thought I couldn't see them if they didn't move. Silly deer.

My food was great again yesterday, still had 200 calories I could have used. I shoot for 1200 to 1550. This morning, as I laid in bed, enjoying the fact that I didn't have to get up unless I wanted to, and thought about how to get protein in my oatmeal without eating fat. I decided to try whey protein powder, vanilla flavored. I mixed in one scoop with cinnamon, and craisins. I'll have to say it was mighty tasty.

I have to get in some ST sometime today. Some side squats, hoping to build a bit of muscle on my hips. Some core exercises with the balance ball, and a few upper body. I know I'll always be broad shouldered, but if I can slim down my arms, it will look normal.

Well, I'm off to clean my filthy house. It has been neglected lately. Have a great day, and watch out for all the little goblins.

Smooth week

on Friday, October 30, 2009

Everything is going smooth for the moment. Rain is supposed to end for about a week this evening. We received over 5 inches last night. Our pecan orchard looks like a lake, which thankgoodness it has a creek that runs straight into the river. That is if the river doesn't come up anymore. I have a feeling our pecan crop this year is a bust. Hopefully we can salvage some of it.

I got in some upper body ST yesterday. I don't spend as much time on the lower since my cardio consists of running or biking most of the time. Not to mention, my arms and stomach are my problems. I have very little fat at all on my legs and hips. Some woman would kill to have little hips, but I would love to just have some hips. I look out of perportion because I'm very broad shouldered, but no hips. Now I got plenty of backside, just not enogh on the sides. I guess we all have different pet peeves. I should notice more of my ups, then my downs. One up is I can run a 5K, that two years ago I thought was crazy to even try. I quit smoking 5 years ago on the 15th of November, big milestone for me. I've started somewhat training for a 10K. The weather has slowed that process, but I'll get there. I have stayed within my calories for this whole week. I've exercised 3 days this week. So I guess I'm doing well.

Breakfast:

Old Fashioned Quaker Oatmeal- Plain, 1 serving

New gadgets and food finds

on Thursday, October 29, 2009

I have a new gadget that I've been playing with the last few days. Sparkspeople. I've heard several talk about it, and I confess, I even played around with it a time or two, but never really got serious about keeping track. I finally got serious on Monday, and I really like it. It has so much more listed on restaurant food then I had thought. So far I've only entered a couple of items that were not listed. I also have kept up with my fitness, and it is neat to look back at calories burned, just used in general, and how many were taken in. It is so much more informative than just journaling my food. I wonder if they have a program like this that can be downloaded to your computer, then periodically updated for new information. The reason I say this, is because not always do I have an Internet connection. I'll have to study that.

Yesterday I did no exercise. I was worn out after a two hour Walmart trip. I never went on Tuesday, it was raining, so I waited till yesterday. I got home to unload the groceries, clean my kitchen from breakfast, and then the company came. An every Wednesday night thing. Play music, or just relax and talk, kind of a we made it half way through the week, now let's unwind kind of thing. I unwound for sure, I fell asleep in my recliner at 8, while our company was still there. OOPS!! That's ok, they are like family, they'll forgive me. But non the less, I needed a rest, and feel better today. Since I was sick last week, I don't want to over do it and relapse, so all's good.

I had another awesome food day, I even managed to stay in my boundaries for fat, carbs, and proteins. That's how it is broken down. My calorie count is from 1200 to 1550 for a day, which on most days is easy, but it can be tough if I don't plan.

food yesterday,

Breakfast- 1 egg, 1/2 cup egg subst, onion, mushroom, mozz, and spinach omelett, 1 slice multi grain toast
Lunch-buffalo chicken sub on wheat from subway, dannon light and fit strawberry yogurt, 20 oz of unsweet tea
Dinner-pork chop grilled, 1/2 a small sweet potato, 1 serv of cauliflower
Snacks-apple, light string cheese, oikos Greek yogurt, hot herbal tea, tangerine, 15 almonds

I tried the Oikos Greek yogurt, blueberry. OMG!!!! It is so good, but nothing like traditional yogurt, it's more like a custard, and not near as sweet, more bitter. Almost like sour cream but really thick with a bit of sweetness. I have been looking for it forever, and finally found some at Walmart. We only have one health food store around here, and it's not a great one.

Well, I'm off to make this dreary, rainy, sticky day a really good one. So lets drink our water, track our food, move our backsides, and boost our spirits. Sounds like a plan to me.

on Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Thought I'd share the view I have on my runs. I ran two miles yesterday afternoon, when it finally quit raining for a minute. It felt really good, and the temperature was perfect.

This is on my first mile, about 1/2 mile or so. The pavement was still wet.

You can see very well, but there is a deer grazing in the center of the picture.

I'm at 1 mile here. I had just scared about 10 deer and they were all running. I didn't get there picture because they scared me just as bad. By the time I turned my camera on they were too far away.
This is our community boat ramp, a few folks trying there hand at a few fish. I didn't get to talk to them, so I don't know whether they were biting or not. It was a calm a gorgeous afternoon.

And finally, I'm standing at my back porch, watching these little creatures play and eat, not more than 100 yards from where I'm standing. There are actually three, one little one is hiding behind mom.

As you can see, I got in my run, which I'm so glad I did. It was so pretty out. Food was on target, although I started keeping track on Sparkspeople and it told me I ate too much fat and not enough carbs. I'll have to watch that I guess. I really like the site, but, I have one pet peeve, which I'll probably figure out as I learn it more. It does count my strength trainings in my report. It showed my calories burned on the Wii, but nothing for the ST. I told my daughter that was just wrong. I'm sore and I want it to count. I'll figure it out.

Food Yesterday,

Breakfast- oatmeal with blueberries, 2 slices of bacon

Lunch- grilled chicken salad with mayo and craisins, ice berg lettuce, raspberry vinaigrette

Dinner- 5 oz fillet Mignon with A1, green beans, brown rice one serving each

Snack- 1 banana, 1 vanilla wafer

Well, I'm off to concour another day.

I got up off my toosh and exercised

on Tuesday, October 27, 2009

It's wet again. We still have more coming. I'm so glad I have exercises I can do inside.

I worked out on my Wii yesterday. It says I have great balance and posture. I think it can't see me, so how does it know. LOL I got in 30 minutes on it, which in all honesty is about an hour to complete. I'm still learning it, so I have to watch the demos first. I also got in some upper body ST and some side and regular planks. I use my balance ball for those.

I have to hit our Walmart Superstore this afternoon to get some things I'm out of. It's so different from how I used to shop. I used to buy lots of packaged foods, because after work I was worn out and didn't feel like cooking. Nothings really changed about the not cooking so much, but I've found a better and healthier way of doing it, thanks to frozen steam veggies, steam bags, and my rocket grill. In less than 30 minutes, we can eat a healthy, satisfying meal, without spending alot of money or time. That just makes me happy. It takes a few more minutes to prepare it, but basically it cooks itself. I'm all about short cuts. But then I'm not one of those that loves to cook. I would rather be outside working in the yard, on the boat, hunting, fishing, anything along those lines. Cleaning house, watching tv, and cooking, are all at the bottom of my list. I'm just a plain old country girl, that loves her outdoors.

Back to the important stuff, food. I had a really good day yesterday, but looking back this morning I didn't get in the protein for breakfast, so today I snuck some in.

Food Yesterday,

Breakfast- oatmeal with apple, blueberry, cinnamon, splenda, and spray ICBIB
Snack- apple
Lunch- spinach, tuna salad (tuna, apple, pickle, flax, miracle whip light)
Snack- banana, 1/2 monster protein smoothie, yogurt
Dinner- baked Mahi Mahi with 1 tbs butter, lemon pepper seasoning, green beans, 1/2 cup shrimp gumbo

I'm off to make this wet dreary day a good one. Hope you all do the same.

Getting my plans together

on Monday, October 26, 2009

I have had one roller coaster week. Was in close contact with a camp member who tested positive for H1N1 last Tuesday. Wednesday evening I started vomiting, fever, and diarria, along with a headache. I thought I had gotten it from him, but it turns out it was just a stomach virus. The good Lord knows I don't want the swine flu if a stomach virus was so awful. I'm back at work this morning to a pile on my desk, and have really no energy to tackle it, but I must.

I lost 2 pounds last week, well as of this morning, but I doubt it's from working the plan, since most everything I ate or drank didn't stay there. I was dehydrated by Friday, and worked hard to rehydrate myself after most the sickness was over.

Food yesterday,

Breakfast- fried egg in Pam, sandwich on whole grain bread with light miracle whip
Lunch- tuna salad sandwich on whole grain, tuna, apple, blueberries, flax seed, pickle, miracle whip light
Snack-6 pecan halves
Dinner- spinach salad, spinach, mozzarella, tomato, Free Italian, 1 cup pasta with deer marinara
Snack- yogurt w/flax, banana

I have my food packed for the day, so it should be easier. I'm set up for a date with my Wii this afternoon during the news. It's so depressing, so I decided it is the perfect time to exercise. It makes me feel better without all the downers from the news.

OH, I almost forgot. Yesterday, while I was having a few good minutes, I cleaned out all my fat clothes. I officially have no more size 12's. I'm in a 10 and by dropping them off at our local salvation army, I have no excuse to gain it back, nor can I use them as a crutch anymore. So I was proud for doing that. Funny how my 10's are a bit loose, but I still weigh within 5 pounds of my 12's. Just goes to show you that it's not always about the number on the scale. I need to get busy and finish the last challenge I started. I'll sit down this week, and get me a plan on what cardio I'll do, and then next Monday I'll start my 2nd 4 weeks of the challenge. I've always heard it's better late then never.

Hope everyone has a great Monday, and stays away from any illnesses.

The flu has hit

on Saturday, October 24, 2009

Stopping in to say I'm still here. I've had the flu for the last several days. I still feel crappie, but better today than in the last few days.

Food has been less then I need, seems I couldn't keep much down, but still trying to make sensible choices. No exercise, except for my abs. They are really sore right now. Still achey, and a slight fever, but better then 104 fever with chills and extreme body aches. I think the worst is over.

I haven't weighed, so who knows.

Another crazy weekend

on Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Crazy weekend. I'll make a brief recap. Friday evening my Wii came in early. It wasn't supposed to be here until today. I made baked beans for the Shrimp boil on Saturday night and set up my Wii. The hubby played a balance game while I cooked. I almost wet myself I was laughing so hard. After I finished the cooking, I ran and did some exercises on the Wii. I got in 45 minutes of different activities on the sports and fitness cd's.

Saturday morning, up before the chickens, I could have taken out a rooster at that hour. 4:30 A.M. I'm in the shower. By 6 we are out the door and prepared for the race for the cure. By 7 we are there and forcing our way through 43,000 people. The walk started at 8 and we finished by 9. It was amazing and emotional. How that many people can all come together for a cause is just awesome. And that was just the participants. We were elbow to elbow almost the whole way.

Saturday afternoon and evening. Went home, got the beans and stuff for camp, went to camp, got all the food prepped. Went back home, (forgot my ammo) I guess I was going to clean my deer to death, all I had was my gun and cleaning kit. DUH! Went back to camp. Good thing camp is only 14 miles from home. Helped get the tables set up and socialized a bit. Ate 3 shrimp, 1/2 a potato, 1 mushroom, and 1 beer. I was up half the night with indigestion.

Then got up at 5 to go hunting on Sunday morning. I saw a coyote, no deer. But then again, I fell asleep in the stand, so anything could have walked by. I was exhausted, and hungry, but still had a tummy ache. Went back to camp around 10, took a nap, ate a BQ pork sandwich, went back to the stand, saw three deer, and 7 rabbit, but the didn't hang around long. Left the woods at dark, loaded my truck, drove home, took more alka seltzer, played under cover monster with my dog, and went to bed. For some, it was probably a boring weekend, but it is how I spend most of mine.

I've run out of time today. Hope everyone has a great evening.

Just rambling, AGAIN!!!!!!

on Thursday, October 15, 2009

I woke up at 3:30 this morning. No reason, just woke up. I hate when that happens. Finally at 5, I just got up. Ok, your thinking perfect opportunity to get in some exercise. Ha, you were wrong. Instead I made a strong pot of coffee and sat in my recliner, with my wiener dog, and read. Why, because I wanted to. I feel like, if you don't stop and do something you enjoy, you will get lost in what this is all about, me. I am planning a run this evening, after the rain quits. It was raining this morning, and I really did not want to ride the bike today. Besides, my backside is sore from that darn seat. I put a towel on it, but it wasn't thick enough for my tushy.

My food was alright yesterday, needed more veggies. I need to carry some steam bags with me. Raw vegetables seem to make my stomach hurt, and gives me terrible gas. I know, to much info. but it does. Steamed is not as harsh for some reason.

Food Yesterday,

Breakfast- banana, oatmeal
Lunch- grilled chicken sandwich
Dinner- 3 fried eggs in Pam olive oil spray, 2 slices of wheat toast, 1/2 a sliced tomato
snack- banana, bowl of cereal with skim milk

I really should have eaten better, but sometimes it's difficult when you don't plan. DUH!!! Like I don't know that by now. Anyways, I'm being honest, and that's what counts.

I'm off to tackle this dreary, wet day, and hope this afternoon is much sunnier. Have a great one.

Feel like a dog chasing it's tail, But I think I caught it

on Wednesday, October 14, 2009

It has been one of those weeks where you think you did something to find out you didn't. I'm feeling like a dog chasing my tail. On a less tail chasing note, I lost 1 lb. so 5 to go by Halloween. I'm pushing it now.

Exercise has been a couple times on my bike and that's about it. With all the rain we have gotten and runs back and forth to the hospital, which is up and down again, I finally got to the store yesterday. I had no fruits and almost no veggies. I keep trying to get there, but by the end of the day I'm wiped out. I'm sleeping like I'll never get to sleep again. At least 8 hours a night. I'm not even sure my head hits the pillow before I'm asleep. I'm blaming the weather, I'm just blah. But, on the bright side, after our rain episode tomorrow, we are through for a while. I sure hope it stays that way for at least a couple weeks. We could really use some drying out, I'm about to mildew.

The hubby ordered me a Wii fit for my Birthday, which isn't until next month, but I'll get it early. I needed something to get my interest back to exercising. It will at least give me something else I can do inside, since Winter is just around the corner.

Food Yesterday, I'm not going to go back and write it all down, it would take a month.

Breakfast- banana protein shake
Lunch- tuna salad plate
Dinner- deer burger with 2 tsps of A1, corn, salad with lime juice
Snacks- yogurt, banana, granola, banana taffy 2 (thank the lord, it's gone)

My food has been pretty good all week, considering I haven't spent much time at home.

I'm off to get my work done for the day, and hopefully it will slow down a bit. Have a great day.

The news just keeps getting better

on Thursday, October 8, 2009

This is turning out to be a good week. It started off rocky, but has improved with time. The BIL is awake, responding to instructions from his nurse, and appears to be aware of his surroundings. It's kind of hard to tell since his blind and still has the respirator down his throat. The doctor is trying to not put in a traic (sp?). But he is doing better, that's the best part. My food was good yesterday, and got in about 20 minutes of ST, then spoiled my two youngest grandsons. It's so much more fun when you can send them home. We watched shark attacks and ate peanut butter and apples.

Today is the youngest Step grandsons Birthday. He turned 11. I'm starting to get that, I don't have a clue what to get him mamaw thing going. Once they get out of a box being fun to play with, I'm lost. I want to get him something educational, but don't have a clue what. There is so much out there now. He got an award for advanced scores on his Benchmark exams. We're proud of him. He is such a smart boy.

Food yesterday,

Breakfast- peanut butter and low glycemic strawberry jelly sandwich on wheat toast, peach cup
Lunch- chicken noodle soup, Progresso light, green beans thrown in
Dinner- deer tenderloin cooked in a pot of pinto beans with rotel, salad no dressing
Snack, PB and apple, yogurt with granola ( too much) but it was so good, popcorn, banana

I'm off to a great start and in a great mood, due to the news about BIL, but I'm one happy little lady. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Listen and Learn, I'm workin on it

on Wednesday, October 7, 2009

I'm getting pretty good at maintenance, but I'm supposed to be losing. AGAIN, I haven't lost. It's me, I know, and really need to put myself in high gear. I keep acting like it's just going to disappear. I did have a good food day yesterday though. I also rode my bike while watching the BL. I so understand about temptation, which was most of the show last night. Good thing I wasn't on the show, I would have lost every challenge. I realised I have a lot to learn about proper diet and exercise. I'm just going to keep learning, and eventually I'll have it all down. The main thing for me is to never give up. It's not an option. I started this journey several years ago, and have lost about 25 lbs so far, and I will get to my goal, someday, but as long as I'm constantly working towards it, I'm going to get there. I really need to work on my own self image though. I try really hard to be nice to myself, but yet keep on with the discipline so I don't quit. Some days are better then others.

Food Yesterday,

Breakfast- peanut butter sandwich on wheat toast and grapefruit
Lunch- tuna salad on a bead of lettuce, tomato, 1 boiled egg, 4 crackers
snack- 1 banana taffy (they should be outlawed, UGHH!)
Dinner- 5 oz. fillet of beef without the bacon, grilled, steamed broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, steamed squash and onion in 1 tbls. EVOO, brown rice
Snack- FF vanilla yogurt with 2 tbls. oats raw

Time to get this next weigh in week underway. Have a great one.

As my world keeps spinning

on Tuesday, October 6, 2009

It is turning out to be a long busy week. I feel like the world is spinning and I can't find a stopping point. Food was alright yesterday, but I'm in major need of some veggies. My fridge is almost bare and I can't seem to find a minute to go to the store that it's not just pouring down raining. Jeez, I know that 6 months from now I'll be praying for rain, but right now I really wish it would stop for a while. We are over 15 inches above normal and expecting more heavy rain.

The BIL is at another stand still. The other brothers are going to talk with the doctor, hopefully, this morning. He is no longer medicated, but still hasn't waken up. That concerns everyone. Maybe we will get some encouraging news. It is just a waiting game, that none of us are enjoying.

Food yesterday,

Breakfast- oatmeal with blueberries
Lunch- chicken salad on a side salad with vinaigrette, wheat crackers
Dinner- soup, chicken noodle
Snacks- SF ice cream, ranch flavored rice cakes, pecans (too many), 1 glass of Merlot

I expect we will be heading to the hospital after work, so I really don't know what time we'll be home tonight. I'm going to have to get some groceries sometime this week, or we'll be eating the grass out of the yard.

Change of schedule

on Monday, October 5, 2009

I'm running threw today. It is going to be a busy week around here.

The only exercise I had this weekend was moving stuff to deer camp. I had planned on walking at camp on Sunday, since the whole day of Saturday was spent moving stuff around, but it started raining Saturday night and is still drizzle raining this morning. This rain wasn't supposed to be here till Sunday night. So that busted my bubble. I grazed all day yesterday, since I was cooped up like an animal. Our deer camp has put a damper on how I plan for the week since I'm not home. My whole schedule is messed up now, and I need to figure it out before I put on 6 lbs instead of losing it. I will get in a walk or ride the bike, even if it's raining. I have a bike trainer I use inside and a treadmill, so I have no excuse. As for yesterday, I was at camp, so I couldn't ride or walk. I'll get this, somehow.

Yesterday,

Breakfast- 3 boiled eggs and an apple
Lunch- more apple with caramel, grilled cheese sandwich on wheat with 2% american and ICBIB spray
Dinner- cereal with ff milk
snacks- sugar cookies (don't ask how many, cause I really don't know)

lots of decaf tea with splenda, and hot chai tea

I'm gonna hurt the hubby if he makes another sugar cookie. I would be fine if I didn't have to smell them.

Gotta run. have a great day.

Another over all good day

Yesterday was another good day. I had another run/walk day and part of it I turned on the ipod. No deer, so I got bored quick. The wind was starting to blow and it had clouded up. But it was still cool and felt great to just be moving. While on my walk, I planned dinner, mentally packed for deer camp, still didn't actually pack, but have it all figured out when I do. Decided I will go for a walk at camp this weekend. Hopefully the deer will be moving and I will get to see them. I also thought about a show on DR. OZ. He is so cool, I really enjoy his show. He had a guy on the other day that he packed everything he ate for 1 day into a plastic container. Once it was gone he was threw for the day. I thought that was a neat idea. I don't have a container yet, but think I may have to try it. Can't hurt, if anything it will get me used to what I need versus what I think I need.

Food Yesterday,

I went a bit to far, but thinks I still stayed on track, calorie wise.

Breakfast- oatmeal with honey, peanut butter, cottage cheese, and blueberries
Lunch- subway ham salad with raspberry vinaigrette, light lays
Snack- cottage cheese, 4 oz. fruit cup, protein shake with 1 banana, 1/4 cup FF vanilla yogurt, 1 scoop of whey protein powder, splenda, and water
Dinner- 1 deer burger, no bun, 1tbls. A1, broccoli, black eye peas
snack- 1/2 cup of sugar free ice cream drizzled with chocolate

The hubby had the ice cream, and I hit him after I ate my 1/2 cup. It was really good, and I don't feel bad, because I never eat ice cream. Once or twice a year maybe, so it won't be a big temptation.

The BIL is down to 70% respirator and seems to still be improving, so that is less stress. It has been a long hard road for him, and still isn't over, but seems to have giving us all hope.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I know I sure will.

Things are improving

I hope the start of this beautiful day finds you all feeling well and strong. As for me, I'm getting my motivation back, and that puts me in a much better mood.

This morning I threw together some oatmeal, cottage cheese, peanut butter, blueberries, and honey. It is good, but could still use some splenda. The cottage cheese still has it a bit salty, and oatmeal has got to be sweet for me. I'm not really hungry, but know it's the most important meal of the day. So, I have eaten about half, and will finish it for a snack later.

I went for a run/walk after work, and saw 7 deer. I'm a huge deer hunter and it just made me want to go SO bad. Bow season opened this morning and it's killing me. Oh, well, if I don't work, I don't get to do all the fun stuff I do.

My food yesterday was good, I drank lots of water, and my energy is starting to pick back up. Other than in the morning when the alarm goes off. These cool mornings, all snuggled in my comfy bed is just awful getting up.

Yesterday,

Breakfast-cottage cheese and apple sauce, 2 slices of wheat toast
Lunch- southwest grilled chicken salad from McDonald's with lime juice instead of dressing and an apple
Snack- cottage cheese, apple sauce
Dinner- 1 egg, 1 egg white sandwich on wheat toasted with 2% Swiss and light Miracle Whip
Snack- popcorn with Parmesan

My BIL is making a few improvements, thank you all for the prayers. He is still far from being out of the woods, but is now only 80% dependent on the respirator and the dialysis seems to be helping his kidneys function a little better. His digestive tract is also improving, he is still unconscious but we are pretty sure it is medically induced. They still don't know where the infection is located, and now are doing ultra sounds to check for other problems. So we are still waiting and more optimistic then a few days ago. I guess that is part of my better mood.

Hope you all have a beautiful Thursday, and get out and move, even if it's just for a few minutes. Not only will it help your mood, but your health too.
